The Sanford Springvale Chamber Ambassador Committee visited Jass Boxing gym with a ribbon cutting ceremony recently. Jass Boxing is a non-profit organization partnering with neighboring youth outreach programs teaching life skills such as respect, self-control, discipline, self-esteem , and physical fitness through boxing. They offer the opportunity for disadvantaged youth and adults to improve on these skills with other local youth programs making Jass Boxing a prerequisite to complete their programs. Participants are encouraged to maintain healthy habits, and some have continued boxing long after completing the outreach program. Jass Boxing is bringing boxing to Sanford memorial Gymnasium on August 24. Doors open at 5:30 with boxing starting at 7PM. Tickets start at $15. For more information visit www.jassboxing.org, or 603-978-9563. Jass Boxing is located at 24 Rochester St. Berwick, Me.
