After a year full of change, one thing remained constant and that was Eastern Propane and Oil’s commitment to Hometown Heroes. This year, Eastern was proud to donate a season of free fuel to a local Veteran from Berwick, ME.
A local Navy Veteran, Dan Perkins, is the 2020 recipient for Eastern’s annual Season of Fuel Giveaway. Perkins was nominated by his stepdaughter for not only honorably serving his country but overcoming medical challenges that make everyday tasks extremely hard. These day-to-day challenges have forced Perkins to retire and this free season of fuel has taken just a little pressure off during these colder months.
Perkins and his wife, Peggy, expressed their gratitude by sharing, “Eastern has made our winter so much easier. We can't thank them enough for their generosity and community outreach.” Michelle Emerson, Perkin’s stepdaughter, said “I want to thank Eastern Propane and Oil for their generosity and giving to the community. I am so grateful that my parents won't have to worry about fuel for the winter. We are very thankful.”
“We look forward to our Season of Fuel giveaway each November at Eastern. It is extremely challenging reading all the submissions and picking just one winner and three runners up, but it is rewarding to be able to give back to individuals who have given the ultimate sacrifice,” said Josh Anderson, VP of Marketing and Business Development at Eastern Propane & Oil. “We are extremely honored to be able to present this season of free fuel to Dan and his family.”
